Way Ahead Care’s own training department, Step Ahead Training, ensure that their entire workforce, regardless of their previous experience, undergoes a vigorous Induction programme. All Induction courses have been developed in line with the national standards and requirements as set out by Skills for Care, the sector skills specialists, and our regulatory body The Care Quality Commission.

Stephanie Pepperd

I have worked for Way Ahead Care for 15 years before starting with Way Ahead Care my background was working in Nursing homes and I am also a qualified hairdresser. I coordinate the training centre (Step Ahead Training) which uses City & Guilds as their awarding body, I am what they call the centre coordinator I am also the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and an assessor for care and management qualifications.

Les Taylor

I have worked in the care industry since leaving school, I have worked for Way Ahead care for the last 21 years. I started part time as a community care assistant. I then undertook my level 2 and 3 qualifications in care and progressed onto my assessor’s qualification. At this time I then joined Step Ahead Training as a trainer and assessor. I assess care qualifications at levels 2 and 3.

I work for Way Ahead Care as the HR/Trainer in the Bath office. I have a background in Personal Development, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Record Keeping and Compliance training. I am a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and have a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management.

I am currently studying through the Alzheimer’s Society and have spent time providing creative activities in a specialist Dementia Care Home.

Raluca – Elena Stanescu

I have previously worked in Care for 4 years, in my last employment I was a Teacher in Early years and Pre-School.

I have achieved my Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, a Honours Degree in Teaching and an Honours Degree in Engineering, Management and Tourism.

I am currently studying my Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement and my Education and Training Qualification.

I currently work a few hours a week for St John’s Ambulance NHS Cadets. This enables 14-18 year olds opportunities to explore roles in Health Care.

I joined Step Ahead Training in April 2023 as a Trainer/Assessor.
