Green Fingered Sarah

Way Ahead Care carer Sarah Ganniclifft has been recognised for her green fingers in a local gardening competition.

The competition, open to everyone living in Lane, Lambrook and Halcon, was organised by the Halcon One Team that brings agencies and residents together to improve life in the area. The competition was sponsored by local garden centre Monkton Elm which provided goodie bags for all the entrants including bird feeders, bird feed, gardening gloves and seeds.

Estates Officer Lucy Hawkins, who helped organise the competition, said the standard of entries was outstanding, adding: “It was lovely to come and look at the very best gardens in the area rather than having to inspect poorly kept gardens.

All the entries were a credit to the residents and shows that people take a great pride in their surroundings. Thanks must go to the judges and to Monkton Elm for sponsorship and the Tool Shed for donating garden tools”

The competition is poised to be an even greater success next year.
