NVQ TRAINING
Way Ahead has always encouraged staff to develop within their role and use the NVQ framework to achieve this. Once a member of staff has completed an application form they will be talked through the process. They will need to cover a number of units to complete the award, the higher the level the more units they will need to achieve.
Meetings will be arranged with there Assessor every 2 weeks. At that meeting the Assessor adn member of staff will plan the evidence gathering for the next 2 weeks and review what has been done in the past fortnight. The staff will work closely with their Assessor to gather sufficient evidence for their NVQ.
Evidence for NVQs comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes, not just pieces of paper. Diaries, audio tapes, video tapes, certificates and assignments can be used to prove how well a staff member does their job. This collection of evidence is called a portfolio.
Once the staff have planned the evidence gathering then they can set about the tasks planned. Staff carry on in this way, planning, reviewing and collecting evidence, until you have covered all the units within the NVQ.
The Portfolio is then checked by an Internal Verifier, who will then sign to say the work is completed and the certificate can be awarded.
