Support Worker (Community based, must be a car driver)
Way Ahead Care provides personalised support and care for individuals with learning disabilities; autism; and other complex conditions living in their own homes.
They would like you to support them with aspects of their day to day lives and participate in a range of activities both at home and in the community
We are looking for a number of flexible, committed, well-motivated individuals with great communication skills to join our small team of Support Workers meeting the needs of our Service Users living independently in the community.
You will deliver community based support to Service Users in their own homes within the communities of Taunton Deane and Sedgemoor; typical tasks will include helping people with day to day responsibilities including tenancy related administration, and money management. We support individuals to access and attend employment or social activities as well as assistance with medication and other personal support needs
The successful candidates need to have access to motorised transport and be prepared to travel to the homes of our Service Users within a 20 mile radius of Taunton.
Varied working hours are available. 7am – 2pm, 5pm – 10pm or 8am – 5pm. There may be the need to provide support and care to the users at alternative times or in addition to the on-going package -for example when the User wishes to go to the theater or a sporting event. Any temporary changes to working hours will be negotiated as and when required. Travel time and mileage is also paid.
