Today we said goodbye to Kevin Day as he starts his new adventure in Saudi Arabia . Kevin has worked for Way Ahead Care for over 12 years as both an Assessor and Trainer of both internal and external candidates. Although is title was ‘Assessor & Trainer’ he has been so much more than that for us and he will be sorely missed. We wish him all the success in his new adventure in the Middle East. It is with great pleasure that Way Ahead Care recognise Stuart Buzza for his 20 years of continued service. Stuart was the 2nd Care Assistant to be employed by Managing Director Pamela Smith when the company was formed in 1994. During his time with Way Ahead Care Stuart has had many diverse roles including Team Leader, Trainer and NVQ Assessor. He now works within our Out of Hours Service delivering services to those that required additional support throughout the night.
Tuesday night saw the Way Ahead Care Internal Care Awards in Bath recognising the staff and their achievements throughout the past 12 months. This included recognising staff for their long service with the company (5 years or more) and a number of individual qualifications that had be undertaken by staff through Way Ahead Care’s internal training department – Step Ahead Training Centre. Way Ahead Care carer Sarah Ganniclifft has been recognised for her green fingers in a local gardening competition. The competition, open to everyone living in Lane, Lambrook and Halcon, was organised by the Halcon One Team that brings agencies and residents together to improve life in the area. The competition was sponsored by local garden centre Monkton Elm which provided goodie bags for all the entrants including bird feeders, bird feed, gardening gloves and seeds.
