Cuts to Homecare funding

The Association of Directors of Adult Social Care (ADASS) released their survey last week regarding the state of funding in Social Care. This is very worrying reading for Home Care providers.

It is stated that there will be a further £1.1bn of cuts this year, on top of the £4.6bn in cuts since 2010-11. This is an alarming realisation of what care providers have been telling commissioners would happen for many, many years….

Cutting the funding for home care will only make it harder for providers to raise wages in line with other industries and attract the vital numbers of staff required to meet the current demand, let alone the increasing requirements for care and support services as the Country’s population ages.
