Way Ahead Care turn 25!

October 2019 is Way Ahead Care’s 25th birthday!

To celebrate we invited staff, commissioners and partners to a celebration evening. We also used this evening to award our long standing members of staff. We had over 40 people come to the evening, with all enjoying Richard’s speech, the food and getting to know other colleagues.

Way Ahead Care has progressed hugely over the past 25 years, here is a little re-cap:

Way Ahead Care was started in 1994 by Pamela Smith who supported a client of a residential home who wished to return home. As the service expanded the owner of the residential home decided to retire and the new owner had no interest in domiciliary care so Pamela took over the service on a permanent basis. Throughout Way Ahead Care’s progression the company has expanded to deliver over 6000hrs of care a week at its peak and employed over 300 members of staff. Way Ahead Care holds ongoing contracts with Somerset and Bath Local Authorities and has provided numerous pilots and specialist schemes on behalf of Local Authorities to meet specific needs.

We are extremely grateful for all of the support we have had, and thank everyone who is, and has been involve in Way Ahead Care’s 25 years.
